Welcome to skill Delivery platform kerala

The Skill Delivery Platform, Kerala (SDPK) is a unique initiative of Dept. of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Kerala implemented through the Special purpose Vehicle, KSITL and ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) as the operating partner. The vision of Skills Delivery platform (SDPK) is to impart industry relevant employability skills training programme to Engineering, Polytechnic and graduate students across the state.

       The SDPK is conceptualized using State-of-the-art Technology (Cisco Telepresence solution) enabled Learning platform that will enable remote delivery of high-quality skills programme delivered by Industry. SDPK will connect 150 Hi-Tech classrooms in the Engineering colleges/Polytechnic institutes/Community Skills Parks in the state and the Industry Hubs such as Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark. The highlight of SDPK is partnering with industry to deliver world-class skill development training programmes which will help students from all branches of engineering to interact with industry experts and get trained.

WHAT WE DO

The focus of SDPK is to enable student to develop technical, digital and life skills from the training programs/courses delivered using the platform. The mode of programme delivery has been conceived with the help of industry – it is suggested that the programme focus on three types of Skills, viz, the Think Skills, Build Skills and Life skills.

  • Think skills involve Business processes, Planning, Requirements, Specifications and Design which are essentials for any ICT Enabled projects
  • Build Skills focusses on developing systems using latest technology. It is proposed to help students develop skills in a programming language (Java or Python) , Develop end-to-end Web apps , Mobile Apps, learn the foundations of Cloud Computing and its configurations, Big data Analytics, Embedded systems and IOT. The programme is structured such that students will get opportunities to choose some of the courses as electives that will suit their aspirations
  • Life skills focusses on developing professional skills amongst students. This module will include Problem solving skills, communication skills, inter-personal skills, Leadership skills and Business values and Ethics.

Think Skill

  • Ability to define & logically analyze a business/social problem
  • Ability to look at problems from multiple perspectives
  • Ability to identify solution possibilities & the most optimal solution
  • Design capabilities : Design the overall architecture , meeting functional and non functional requirements; design considerations such as environment considerations
  • Familiarisation of Software Analysis & Design tools

Build Skill

  • Ability to build a solution that will interact with user, or with other objects manipulate data, control the physical world objects, all these using web or through mobile devices 
  • Test the solution to see the completeness , accuracy, functionality, performance , scale and usability aspects.
  • Familiarisation of Build & Test tools

Life Skill

  • Ability to collaborate with team in achieving common goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively (reading, writing and presenting) in articulating ones view points.
  • Ability to work under crisis and stress situations.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively while analyzing problems.
  • To be well versed with the ICT Industry relevant processes.

Self Learning

  • Learn the basics of a skill area as depicted in the course agenda
  • Learning through industry experts training videos, application level news, blogs, researches, trends , whitepaper etc
  • Candidate to develop a foundation on the subject matter

Live Learning

  • Learning through the SDPK immersive virtual learning platform
  • Subject matter experts from industry to deliver the sessions
  • Learning through Demonstrations, assignments, case studies
  • Candidates to develop Level -5 or above skill levels as per NSQF

Assisted Learning

  • Subject level Assistance to students through tutors at their locations
  • Support to the projects and assignments
  • Mentoring and facilitating internal collaborative learning
